I remember eating Otter Pops as a kid during the summer and my kids loved eating them just as much as I did, and still do! Yum!

This Is What You Do When It's Hot Outside
Eric was talking the other day about how he would make huge forts in the backyard with his brother and then I remembered how Darren and I would use all of the chairs from our dining room and build huge forts in the living room. So, I told Kayla about the idea and she was super excited. I even got a "You are the best mom ever" out of her, doesn't happen often! Kayla and Kyler had so much fun crawling around in their "house".
Vacation Bible School
This is Kayla's first time at VBS and she is having a great time. If you ask her what she is learning about she will tell you, "God and Space". The kids watch a puppet show, have story time, science and cooking class, play games and sing songs. And the extra bonus is that Grandma Jean teaches the cooking section so Kayla gets to eat treats AND see Grandma!

Kayla's Dance Recital
Kayla was in her second dance recital last night and danced to "Big Coconuts". She did soooo good! She is a natural dancer! We had several people come up to us after the performance and tell us what a good dancer Kayla was. She loves to dance, loves the costumes and loves to dance on stage. I see many years of dance in her future! It is so fun to watch Kayla doing something that she loves so much! What made the night even extra special was Eric dancing in the Daddy Dance at the end of the recital. Then at the end of the Daddy Dance the daughters come up to dance with their daddies. It was so cute! Unfortunately, I do not have pictures of the Daddy Dance because we are not allowed to take pictures during the recital, I could only take pictures at rehearsal.

Does It Get Any Cuter?
On Mother's Day, we were all standing around in the kitchen talking and all of the sudden Kyler walks to the refrigerator and grabs the picture of Kayla and storms off to the playroom. He then put the picture of Kayla in the stroller and started pushing it around the house. That was the cutest thing and I definitely got some tears in my eyes!
Kiddos
Here are some random pictures that have been taken over the last month. It is fun to watch Kayla and Kyler play together (when it's nicely) and see how much Kyler watches everything his big sister does and tries to do the same thing. Which can be good and bad! Kyler is developing quite the personality! He loves to test his mommy and see what he can get away with. He loves to laugh at me when I tell him no, slowly backs away as I tell him to come here, climb on everything and play with anything and everything that is NOT a toy! Kyler is all boy! At the same time, he is such a sweetie! He still loves to cuddle and I'm loving every minute of it before it is too late. Kayla continues to be my little helper and does such a good job of looking out for her baby brother. She has been telling me lately that she is so glad that she has a baby brother. Too cute!
Oh Boy!
This past weekend I went on a girl's trip to Mexico and while I was there I got Kayla this dress since we all know how much Kayla loves to dress up. Kayla was so excited when I showed her and she wanted to try it on right away. She went into her room got a matching bow to put in her hair and then put the dress on and pulled one of the shoulders down. I asked her if she needed help and she said, "No mommy, I want it like that". Oh boy!! Then she wanted me to take her picture. Cracks me up!!
Sea Life Aquarium
While Eric was in Mexico, I decided to take the kids to the new Sea Life Aquarium at the mall. It was a disaster!! We had to wait about 30 minutes to get in, it was packed and Kyler decided that he wanted to cry the entire time. So, I managed to somehow get a couple of pictures before I darted through the entire exhibit and then as soon as we left the aquarium guess what Kyler did, fell asleep! I feel the stress come back just from writing about the experience! haha!
Mother's Day
Yes, I know that Mother's Day was a while ago but an event took place that day that is worthy of mentioning even if it is almost one month later. One night my mom and I were trying to decide what the menu was going to be for Mother's Day when I jokingly asked, "Why are we the ones doing this? Shouldn't the guys be cooking us dinner on our day?" Well, my mom and I liked the way that sounded and proposed the idea (actually we told them they were going to cook) and the men agreed to the "idea". It was so funny to hear my dad call and then Eric would go in the other room so they could secretly plan the menu. Eric went to the Farmer's Market to buy fruit for the fruit pizza that we requested (we couldn't let them off easy) put the casserole in the crock pot and then my dad and Darren came over early to help cook everything else. The meal turned out really good! Now that we know how well they can plan, shop, prepare and cook we might have to propose the "idea" more often! The men did a nice job of making sure that all of the mother's had a very special day!
