California

We spent the week in California with our friends Rita, Ava and Lily.  It was a busy week but we had so much fun!

Packed in and ready to hit the road!  Notice Kyler is already eating before we even left the driveway.

The first three nights we stayed with Rita's grandma and visited the beach that was near her house.  The kids had a blast playing in the waves while Rita and I enjoyed getting burnt on the beach.  : ) After the beach we headed to the pier for some boardwalk games and dinner at Bubba Gump.

They entertained themselves for hours playing in the waves and looking for sand crabs.

The next day we headed to the American Girl Doll store.  Kayla had been looking forward to visiting the store and getting a new doll for weeks.  She did extra chores around the house to help pay for her new doll.

Kayla knew exactly what doll she wanted ahead of time and was thrilled to finally get her doll which she named, Shelly.
We decided since we were going to be at the store that it would be fun to make reservations to eat at the cafĂ©.
This was Kyler's favorite part.  Lunch.
The dolls were given little chairs that hooked onto the table and even their own little cup and plate.
Kayla and Shelly deciding what to order.
 One happy little girl!
After we left the store, we headed to UCLA to visit Rita's brother, Matt.  He gave us a little tour of the campus which is gorgeous.

The next day we headed to Disneyland!!

Rita made adorable outfits for the kids to wear.

Since Eric did not come with us on this trip to Disney, I got to go on all the spinning rides that he would normally take the kids on, like the tea cups.  Ugh.
The next day, we divided up our time between California Adventures and Disneyland.
Rita's friend made these super cute bows for Kayla and Ava.
We had breakfast with Minnie and Friends and the kids were so excited to see some of their favorite characters.  Kyler was especially excited to see Donald Duck and Captain Hook.

Kyler was so excited to see a lot of characters on the streets in California Adventures but his favorite to see was, Sulley.

 Waiting to watch the parade.

Girl Scout Fun

On Friday night, Kayla and Eric went to a Daddy/Daughter Sweetheart dance with some of her Girl Scout friends and their dads.  Kayla was so excited to dress up and dance with daddy and her friends.

Each girl from Kayla's troop picked a country that they wanted to research.  Kayla chose, Sweden and had fun finding interesting facts about life in Sweden.  Each girl got a passport that they stamped as they learned about each country.  It was cute!

Proud

It is so fun to watch both Kayla and Kyler doing what they enjoy. We love to watch Kayla and her team up on stage because we see all of the hard work that they put into getting ready for their competitions and the final result always makes us proud.

This is the lyrical piece, Fly, that they competed last weekend.  Kayla comes out from the left of the stage.
Hip-hop number, Despicable.  Kayla is the purple minion on the far right.
Jazz number, Dance With Me.  Kayla is on the far left.
Musical Theatre number, Never Fully Dressed.  Kayla will run out from the right.

Kyler had his last tball game on Saturday.  He loves tball and looks forward to playing every week.  He was especially excited for the last game because they were going to be passing out the trophies.
Out on the field with his buddies, Nate and Emmy.

 Tunnel Time!
I love how happy Kyler's face looks in this picture.
 Great job, Kyler!

Eric really enjoyed helping with Kyler's team.
My kids are so lucky to have such supportive grandparents.
After party at Chuck E. Cheese.  Kyler couldn't stop sucking down his Sprite long enough to smile for the camera.  : )
