Butterfly Exhibit

We enjoyed the perfect weather today and went to the Butterfly Exhibit at the Desert Botanical Garden. Kayla had soooo much fun! She happened to be wearing yellow which I did not even think about how yellow would be a color that the butterflies would be attracted to but they were! They were landing on her shirt, her yellow bow and her arms. It was so cool! Kyler wanted to grab all of the flowers, and tried to snatch up a butterfly that Eric was trying to show him. Aaaah, good times! So, Eric had to hold his arms down while he was looking at the butterflies which actually caught his attention, it was very cute! I went a little crazy with posting lots of the pics but they turned out so pretty it was hard to choose. Click on the pictures to see the butterflies a little closer.

Mmmmm...crackers!

I usually don't put Kyler on the couch for snack but Kayla was sitting on the couch watching a show and eating her crackers for snack. Kyler was of course intrigued by what Kayla was doing so I sat him up on the couch and gave him one saltine cracker. Well, he ate up that cracker and then tried to get the crackers from Kayla's bowl which she ended up giving to him. So at this point, what the heck, gave him the crackers and let him munch away! Then brushed off all of the crumbs from the couch on the floor and then called in the dogs! haha!

Kayla's 4 year and Kyler's 1 year pics

So I have to admit I was somewhat dreading this day...I always work up a sweat trying to get these kids to smile during pictures, sit still, and look at the camera. Well, today I tried to perform a miracle and get both kids to smile, sit still AND look at the camera AT THE SAME TIME! The first picture they took was of Kayla and Kyler together and as soon as Eric sat Kyler down he started to fuss and crawl towards Eric and I. GREAT! However, we sat him back down and started acting ridiculous so that both of the kids would look at us and smile at the same time...it worked! The pictures turned out so cute and they both had so much fun hamming it up-go figure! There were a few more taken of Kayla simply because she was able to sit still for a longer period of time than Kyler could but the ones that were taken of Kyler were precious and captured his happy personality.

Getting Ready for Spring!!

Despite Kayla's girly-girl appearance, she loves to get her hands dirty! The weather is finally starting to warm up a little so we decided that it was time to plant some flowers in the backyard. Kayla picked out some flowers that she wanted to plant in her garden, too. Kyler was napping or else I'm sure he would have been more than happy to "help" Kayla, then Kayla would get irritated, then Kyler would cry...maybe it was a good thing Kyler was napping!
