Daisy Tea Party

When I was younger I was in Girl Scouts for many years. I made great friends and had so many fun memories because of Scouting. I have been waiting for Kayla to turn 5 so she could check out Girl Scouts and see if it was something that she would be interested in doing. I tried emailing twice the person that is supposedly in charge of locating local troops to put you in contact with. I had not heard back from anyone and was kind of bummed. Well, a few weeks ago, I got a text from a friend asking me to buy some Girl Scout cookies from her daughter. So, I called her up, got the troop leader name and number and called to see if there was an opening. Eric and I took Kayla to the meeting Wednesday night to see if she would like to join and she had a blast! Her friend, Kaitlyn is a part of the troop so that makes joining that much more exciting for Kayla. The girls in the troop were so friendly and included Kayla right away. The mom's that stayed at the meeting introduced themselves to Eric and I and made us feel welcome. We got a great feeling from the meeting and are excited for Kayla.

The troop had their monthly outing today at the Red Mountain Golf Resort for a Tea Party. The girls got to dress up in their Sunday best and have a tea party while learning table manners. The girls all looked so cute and Kayla's leader did a great job of treating the girls like ladies and setting everything up so pretty. The girls got to choose what kind of hot tea they wanted, enjoyed finger foods and scones for dessert. Kayla chose peppermint tea and added one sugar cube and honey. Gag! It was funny. Needless to say, Kayla had so much fun at her first Girl Scout adventure.
