Kayla and Kyler

We took the kids to get some pictures taken together over the weekend. Kyler did really good and Kayla of course loved posing for the camera. She is in the "cheesy smile" phase right now but the pictures still turned out really cute!

Kayla's 1st Day of Preschool

Kayla had her 1st day of school today. She was very excited, especially since her preschool is in our living room! As most of you know, I decided not to go back to teaching this year. However, shortly after I had been at home on maternity leave, I realized how much I loved being at home but also how much I missed teaching. So, I came up with a plan that allowed me to have the best of both worlds. I decided to turn our living room into an in-home preschool. The preschool only runs three days a week for two and half hours so, I get my teaching fix in and the rest of the day to enjoy with my kids. I have seven kiddos that are absolutely adorable! I'm so excited for this new adventure!

All Grown Up

The day finally came; Kayla's first haircut! She really did not need much of a cut as she did a trim. Her bangs were pretty long and her hair in the back was growing in here and there, so we took her to Snip-its to get her first haircut. She was so excited! She was such a big girl and sat up in the chair and did not move the whole time. She looks all grown up with her big girl bangs...why do some of the most special times make mommy's so teary?

Kyler's 1st Cereal

As we all know by now, Kyler is a big boy! I think that he has been ready to eat solid food since the day he was born. He literally falls into a trance and stares at our food when we eat, it is so funny! We introduced him to his first cereal and to no one's surprise, he did great! He ate it all up with hardly any mess. Kyler is now truly one happy "little dude", as Kayla calls him.

The Great Outdoors

Over the weekend, we went camping at Sharp Creek with my family. Despite Kayla's girly-girl nature, she also loves the great outdoors! I was a little worried about Kyler and how he would sleep all night in the pack-n-play but he slept through the night without a peep. We also went to Woods Canyon Lake and rented a boat. The lake was gorgeous and it was very relaxing, especially when we dropped the kids off on shore to hangout with grandma. I must explain the first picture. My mom and I unloaded the cars while the men attempted to put up the tents. Basically, we got done our job before they did so we decided to crack open a beer and watch them "work". The classic story from the trip comes courtesy of Kayla, of course. So, Friday night my mom is getting everything out to make Smores and stopped for a minute to talk to my dad. She then realized that Kayla was over by the table and was a little too quiet. When she went over there she noticed that the marshmallows that she had set out, were gone. My dad asked Kayla where the marshmallows went and she said, " I think grandma ate them.". What a little stinker! We had such a great time camping but I think that we were all anxious to leave so we could get home and take a shower!!!
