All Smiles

Kyler is such a happy baby! He smiles all of the time and talks up a storm to anyone that will look his way. Kyler is a chunky man weighing in over 14 pounds!! Love it! He gives me quite the upper body workout! He continues to sleep through the night and usually goes back to bed after his morning bottle. He is starting to gain some neck control so we are able to put him in the Bumbo and exersaucer, as long as we pack in some blankets around him. He is much happier when he is able to look around and see what is going on.

Best Friends

Kayla told Eric the other day that Kyler was her best friend. We will see how long that lasts! : ) Kayla just adores Kyler and constantly wants to kiss him, talk to him and sing songs to him. I think I have figured out why the second child is usually the most mellow of the two, because the older sibling is constantly in their face, pinching their cheeks and kissing on them all of the time!! Kyler just lays there and smiles, what a trooper! Kyler is starting to watch Kayla when she is playing or talking to him and just smiles away.

Two Little Fishies

We went swimming over at my parent's house on Sunday and Kyler got into the pool for the first time. We figured since he loves taking a bath that he would enjoy the pool and we were right. He was very content just floating around with daddy in the water. Kayla did a great job of using her kickboard to roam around the pool with daddy, too.

Kyler's Big Accomplishment!

Last night for the very first time, Kyler...slept through the night!!!! After 13 weeks of little sleep, Eric and I will no longer be walking/talking zombies!! Kyler went to bed at 9:30 and slept until 5:30, ate and then went back to sleep until 9. Thank you, Kyler!

Hard Knock Life

Kayla had her 1st dance recital last night and it was adorable!! Dance Connection Too put on an awesome recital that had a range of ages and dance styles. The best one was Kayla's group, of course! Kayla's class danced to "Hard Knock Life" from the movie Annie. The girls did a great job on stage in front of a huge crowd, or as Lexi told me after the performance, "There were a BUNCH of people there". Kayla's adoring fans (friends and family) came to watch her perform and presented her with flowers after the show. It was so precious to watch her dance on stage. What a big girl!!

Dress-Up

Kayla LOVES to dress-up! She will change her outfit several times a day. A complete wardrobe change includes; clothes, shoes, hair accessories, bracelets, necklaces (that can be worn around the neck, head or waist)and usually some type of crown. You will notice that Kayla likes to put a blanket on her head and then a crown on top of the blanket. This is what she calls her princess hair. She gets very creative with her wardrobe selections!!

Boo-Boo

Kayla is very protective of Kyler and does not like it when he is crying or when we are talking while Kyler is asleep. Well, Kyler likes to claw his face and got a little knick on his forehead. When Kayla saw this, she was very concerned and wanted to put a band-aid (which Kayla uses stickers as band-aids) on his forehead. What a good sport, poor guy!

Kyler's World

In Kyler's World, Day=Night and Night=Day. STILL! He is sleeping a little longer at night and not crying in between feedings (usually) so Eric and I can (usually) count on 4 hours of sleep in between feedings. I'm really working on trying to keep him awake for part of the day and slowly get him on somewhat of a sleeping schedule. Weighing in at almost 13 pounds, he is ready to sleep through the night...so is the rest of the house! With the frustration of the sleeping schedule aside, Kyler is such a sweetie! He smiles all of time (especially at mommy!) and is "talking" a lot. He is not too crazy about laying on his back swatting at hanging toys; he likes to be upright looking around. We have also found out that he loves to be outside, especially when it is windy.
