Spring Projects

Last week Kayla was home sick with the flu and an ear infection so we had PLENTY of time on our hands. We took advantage of our time at home and made some springtime projects.

Making butterflies out of paper towels and colored water, got this idea off of Pinterest. It is super easy and fun!

We made so many butterflies!

These are all over the playroom now.

Kayla wanted to make flowers out of pipe cleaners so we decided to turn them into centerpieces for the kitchen table.

Easter Egg Hunt

One of my favorite childhood traditions/memories was the family Easter Egg Hunt. It is a tradition that has been fun to carry on with my own kids. The Blawat and Horvath families have joined us every year and we always look forward to watching the kids play and hunt for eggs. It was a nice day (in the shade) to be outside and I know that Kayla and I especially enjoyed being anywhere but inside the house after spending an entire WEEK inside the house because she was sick. Thankfully after many days of rest and a trip to the doctor Kayla was 100% better (fever free) and ready for the hunt.

I LOVE this picture! Look at those excited little faces!

I read this book to the kids on their birthday every year. Talk about a tear jerker, no matter how many times I read it!

Kyler's 3rd Birthday Party

Yesterday we celebrated Kyler's 3rd birthday with friends and family at Skyline Park. Ever since we came back from Disneyland in December, Kyler has been telling us that he wanted a Mickey Mouse birthday party. He absolutely loves Disneyland and especially, Mickey. So a Mickey theme it was.

It was a gorgeous day to be outside and Kyler had so much fun playing with his friends and family. We want to thank everyone for making the day so special for Kyler!

Krystle from custompartythemes.blogspot.com did a great job making the adorable and yummy Mickey Mouse cupcakes!

The centerpiece idea that I got from, yep you guessed it, Pinterest.

Getting ready to eat some CUPCAKES! I think my friend Stephanie has the right idea, do cupcakes first to avoid all of the children begging for cupcakes from the moment they get to a party. Next time...

I think he likes it.

While we were cleaning up, the kids got this idea to tie the tablecloths around their necks and pretend that they were super hereos. Leave it to kids to be entertained by tablecloths...

After we got home and the kids had some much needed downtime, we headed outside to share our leftover cupcakes with some of the neighbor kids that were outside playing. Kyler then tried out his new bike and played with his basketball hoop.
